And, most of these patches offer more than just pumpkins for purchase — they host a blast of enjoyable fall activities!
The Big Orange Pumpkin Farm at Preston Trail Farms
Voted one of the best pumpkin patches in North Dallas, Preston Trail Farms is located on State Highway 289 in Gunter. Their Pumpkin Farm has blossoming small green pumpkins on the vine and a variety of pumpkins you can take home. Take a hayride and feed the animals in the petting farm for a taste of country life. If you’re up for a little adventure, the 6-foot hay maze offers a fun, quick challenge for all ages. Visit Preston Trail Farms between 8AM and 8PM any day of the week through November 25th. $10 admission includes one pumpkin, a hayride, feed for the petting barn and admittance to the roping pen and hay maze. Dogs are welcome as long as they’re on a leash.
The Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch
You will find hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, cornstalks, hay bales, baked goods, and refreshments at Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. Make a reservation to visit the pumpkin patch 9AM until 7PM every day of the week, through October 31st. While parking is $10 on weekdays and $20 on weekends, all activities are free. Pumpkins are available for purchase from $2. Snap a photo with the cartoon character cutouts to document the fun time!
The Art of the Pumpkin at Dallas Arboretum
If you’re crazy about pumpkins and want more than your simple pumpkin patch, head to The Art of the Pumpkin at Dallas Arboretum. Half pumpkin festival, half art exhibit, The Art of the Pumpkin has a nationally-acclaimed Pumpkin Village is open through November 1st and features 20-foot-tall decorated pumpkin houses and creative displays made from over 90,000 pumpkins, squash, and gourds. Take on the hay bale maze, enjoy live music on the weekends and buy a beautiful pumpkin from the pumpkin patch before you leave.
Hall’s Pumpkin Farm
While you’ll find great pumpkins as you will at all of the top pumpkin patches in North Dallas, Hall’s Pumpkin Farm is known for its elaborate corn maze. If you’re up to the challenge, “get lost” in two acres of towering corn stalks, some standing 9 feet tall, and wind your way through twists, turns and dead ends. The farm is open every day of the week except for Monday, and is cash only. $10 admission includes entrance into the corn maze and parking.
Kids of all ages will love spending the day at Storybook Ranch, one of the pumpkin patches in North Dallas with the most fun fall activities. The cost of admission is $15 per child and includes a mini pumpkin, wagon ride, pony and horsey rides, petting zoo, slide bounce house and obstacle course. Adults are $5 each, which includes access to the petting zoo and a wagon ride. Browse a variety of pumpkins and purchase one to take home for your doorstep.
